Löfbergs expands McDonald’s partnership across all Nordic markets
Löfbergs is strengthening its long-term partnership with Food Folk, McDonald’s developmental licensee in the Nordics, as Finland joins the agreement. With this expansion, Löfbergs becomes the coffee supplier to McDonald’s restaurants across Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.
This marks the first time a single coffee partner will serve McDonald’s across the Nordic region.
“It is an ambition for us to serve great-tasting, high-quality coffee in every McDonald’s restaurant in the Nordics, every day. Strengthening our partnership with Löfbergs across all four Nordic markets is an important step in ensuring a consistent coffee experience, while continuing to raise the bar on quality. Through our partnership with Löfbergs, we also ensure that our specially developed McDonald’s blend is not only of high quality, but also responsibly sourced, with Rainforest Alliance Certified coffee – allowing us to combine great taste with responsible sourcing”, says Søren Vogt, Chief Supply Chain Officer at Food Folk.
“Being selected as the sole coffee partner across the Nordics reflects the strength of our offering and the trust we have built through long-term collaboration focused on taste, quality, sustainability and customer care”, says Trina Törnqvist, Chief International Business Officer at Löfbergs.
Expanding across Europe
The expanded partnership strengthens Löfbergs’ international business and reinforces the company’s position as a leading coffee player in Northern Europe. Löfbergs recently signed a new agreement with Circle K that will see the company supply coffee to more than 4,000 stations across Europe.
Founded in 1906 and still family-owned, Löfbergs is one of the largest coffee roasters in the Nordics and a pioneer in sustainability within the global coffee community. The company began exporting coffee in 1993, and today around half of its sales come from markets outside Sweden.
