Scandic chose Löfbergs

Press release -

Scandic chose Löfbergs

Scandic continues to serve organic and Fairtrade labelled coffee from Löfbergs. The coffee roaster has been selected after a new tendering process. It is a three-year agreement that includes more than 100 hotel units in Sweden and Finland.

- Löfbergs makes it easy for us to meet our customers' demands on good coffee that is organic and Fairtrade labelled. We also get great support in our quality and sustainability work, says Nicklas Hedin, Procurement Category Manager Food & Beverage at Scandic.

- We are so happy for the confidence Scandic shows in us. It is an acknowledgement that our focus on great taste combined with responsible sustainability work is appreciated on the market, says Per Grahn, sales director at Löfbergs.

Sustainable business

Quality and sustainability are important aspects of the cooperation. Löfbergs will visit all hotels to be able to propose suitable measures on how the quality can be even better. When it comes to sustainability, it is partly about making the effects of Scandic serving organic and Fairtrade labelled coffee visible.

- With the help from Löfbergs, we can show how we contribute to a more sustainable development together with our guests. It strengthens our relationship and creates the conditions for more sustainable business, says Nicklas Hedin.

To make the effects visible, Löfbergs has developed quotations and receipts that specify what the customer's volumes contribute with in environmental and social terms in the production when purchasing coffee from certified farms.

- The contributions of Scandic will increase the proceeds of coffee farmers and cooperatives with approximately SEK 1.4 million per year. They will make sure that land corresponding to 300 football fields can be converted to organic productions, says Per Grahn, sales director at Löfbergs.
