Record growth for Löfberg's coffee capsules

Press release -

Record growth for Löfberg's coffee capsules

Löfbergs is headed toward a record year for its sales of coffee capsules. So far, the sales in Sweden have increased with 152 % this year - to be compared with the total growth on the market, which is 75 %. This according to recent numbers from Nielsen Company.*

 - There are many reasons for this success. Essentially, the consumers think that Löfberg's coffee capsules taste really good, says Kent Pettersson, sales director Retail at Löfbergs.

Believes in a continued growth
Löfberg's growth signifies that the company has almost doubled its market share. According to
Kent Pettersson, this is due to a wide selection of products with espresso, fine-grind coffee, hot chocolate and tea - and that Löfberg's capsules can be found in all supermarket chains as well as with several white goods retailers and in web stores.

- Naturally, our goal is to continue to increase faster than our colleagues in the business,
says Kent Pettersson.

First with aluminium free and Fairtrade
Löfberg's most popular capsule is the espresso Black Intense, and the new find-grind coffee
sorts Kharisma and Jubileum are steadily gaining ground.

- Our espressos are popular and are getting positive marks from consumers and coffee connoisseurs. Something that surprises a lot of people is that the capsule system works so well for fine-grind coffee, which after all is what most people want when they feel like a good cup of coffee, says Kent Pettersson.

The sustainability issues are important to Löfbergs, and the company was first in
Sweden with aluminium free capsules as well as Fairtrade labelled espresso and
fine-grind coffee. All coffee from Löfbergs will be certified by 2016.
