Löfbergs is up for The Nordic Council Nature and Environment Prize

Press release -

Löfbergs is up for The Nordic Council Nature and Environment Prize

The list of nominees for one of the most prestigious environmental awards in the Nordic countries has been presented. The coffee roaster Löfbergs is one of the candidates for The Nordic Council Nature and Environment Prize.

The prize was established in 1995 and is awarded to a person, organization or enterprise that has made special efforts for the environment or put focus on a specific environmental area. This year's theme is greenhouse gas emissions, an area that is an important part of Löfbergs's sustainability work.

Less impact on the climate
Löfbergs has reduced its impact on climate with 31 percent since 2005, despite the increase in production. This is partly due to continuous energy efficiencies and the fact that the company is using more renewable energy. The aim is to be the most sustainable coffee group in Europe.

The winner of The Nordic Council Nature and Environment Prize will be announced on 27 October.

Even though Löfbergs increased its production, the company's climate impact decreased. This is partly due to continuous energy efficiencies and more renewable energy. At the same time, the company sold a record amount of coffee from certified farms. This is shown in the coffee group's sustainability report for 2013/2014.
