Kathrine Löfberg awarded with H.M. The King's Medal

On 16 June will Kathrine Löfberg, chairman of the coffee roaster Löfbergs and a fourth-generation Löfberg, be awarded with H.M. The King's Medal for exceptional contributions within Swedish industry.

H.M. The King's Medal was instituted around 1814, and is awarded in a number of different sizes. It is presented to Swedish and foreign citizens for exceptional contributions. Kathrine Löfberg will receive the 8th size medal on the Seraphim ribbon for meritorious contributions within Swedish industry. With her medal, Kathrine Löfberg is the second member of the Löfberg family to be presented with a medal from the king. Anders Löfberg was also awarded in 2011 for his contributions within Swedish industry,

H.M. The King's Medal is presented to leaders in Swedish industry that run companies in a profitable and sustainable way, which Kathrine Löfberg as chairman of the 110-year-old family company is a great example of.

-It is fantastic and very honorable to be the recipient of this medal. That our way of running a company is noticed like this is a testimony to me that what we do within Löfbergs makes a positive contribution to society, which is exactly what we aim for, says Kathrine Löfberg.

Other prominent leaders of Swedish family businesses that have been presented with the King's Medal for their contributions within Swedish industry are Antonia Ax:son Johnson, Ingvar Kamprad, Cristina Stenbeck and several members of the Wallenberg family.

Löfbergs is one of the largest family-owned coffee roasters in the Nordic countries. The company has 300 employees and a turnover of SEK 1.7 billion. The head office is situated in Karlstad, Sweden and the company has its own roasting-houses in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Latvia. The Swedish Federation of Business Owners, in Karlstad has announced the winner of this year's Business Leader of the Year in Karlstad. The Löfberg family is awarded for its long-term and strategic work of being in the forefront and push the sustainability work of its line of business forward, from bean to cup, at home in Värmland as well as in the producing countries with the coffee farmer.
