Press release -
"A dark coffee cloud is sweeping over Finland"
They drink more coffee than
anyone else in the world, and they are traditionally a bit fairer than other
Europeans. But now the dark roast coffee gains ground in Finland. In a recent
study, Kharisma and Crescendo from Löfbergs get high marks from Finnish
consumers.
- A dark coffee cloud is sweeping over Finland. It is great to see that our major effort on dark roast coffee achieves results, says Leif Sjöblom, marketing manager at Löfbergs.
The study, where 125 people participated, was conducted by Market Insight in Helsinki.
The participants got to do a blindfold test with seven different sorts of coffee; two from Löfbergs and five domestic ones. The aim was to map out what the Finnish consumers think of the sorts of dark roast coffee that are available on the Finnish market.
Darker roast
The taste tests show that the sorts of coffee from Löfbergs are
conceived as having a considerably darker roast than the others. Löfbergs also
is highly rewarded when it comes to general marks, where Kharisma takes the
first place and Crescendo the second.
- At the same time, an overwhelming majority of those who have tried our dark roast coffee says that they will buy it again. That is incredible on a market, where Löfbergs still is the new kid in town. This shows that we have a great possibility to keep growing in Finland, says Leif Sjöblom.
