November 6, the Coffee Association of Canada arrange their annual conference in Toronto. This year the theme is “Craft of Coffee”. Kathrine Löfberg, chair at the Swedish coffee roaster Löfbergs is specially invited to speak about Löfbergs and the passion for good, sustainable coffee.
In February, they won the Olympic gold medal in curling. Team Hasselborg is now fully focused on the Grand Slam of Curling with six tournaments in Canada. With the season approaching, the team begins cooperating with the Swedish coffee roaster Löfbergs that recently established in Canada.
The coffee farmers of the world are getting older. At the same time, fewer young people see a future in coffee, which is threatening access to good coffee in the future. Löfbergs wants to change this with its initiative, Next Generation Coffee. The family-owned coffee roaster is now presenting a new coffee from the next generation of coffee farmers.
The health drink Kombucha has become a great success in large parts of the world, and the American Humm Kombucha is one of the leading brands. The company is now taking its first step over to Europe, where the coffee roaster Löfbergs will be Humm Kombucha’s sales partner in Sweden. The cooperation is a part of Löfbergs’s investment in the rapidly growing Ready To segment.
Löfbergs was first in Europe to remove aluminium from coffee packaging 25 years ago. The family-owned coffee roaster is now taking the next big climate-smart step in the packaging field. This autumn, Löfbergs is starting to phase out fossil plastics to replace it with a plant-based alternative, green polyethylene.
The coffee roaster Löfbergs is one of the finalists in The European Coffee Awards. It means that the family-owned coffee roaster is ranked as one of the best in Europe. The winner is announced at The European Coffee Symposium in Milan at the end of November.
In 2001 Löfbergs co-founded International Coffee Partners, where we together with a number of other family-owned coffee companies contribute to the development of small-scale coffee farmers. The Swedish coffee roaster Löfbergs will be the official coffee partner for two of the most prestigious coffee events in Europe. The agreement extends over three years and comprises the UK Coffee Leader Summit in London and The European Coffee Symposium 2018, which will take place in Milan. The events are arranged by Allegra.
The finalists for the Sustainable Leadership Award 2018 in Sweden were presented today. The coffee roaster Löfbergs’s CEO Lars Appelqvist is one of three final candidates. The award rewards a person that through competent leadership has contributed to successful sustainability work in its organization and/or society in general. Lars was also a finalist in 2013 and 2015.
Instruments that guide in the right direction are needed to create the prerequisites for better climate work in Europe. That is why Löfbergs together with 18 other companies have signed a letter to the Ministers of Energy in the European Union regarding updating and tightening the EU’s climate change strategy and targets.
