Press release -

New specialty coffee from Löfbergs Lila

Fine-grind coffee is getting more popular at cafés all over Sweden according to a poll carried out by Demoskop on behalf of Löfbergs Lila. At the same time, the interest for the origin of the coffee is increasing. Löfbergs Lila bears this in mind when launching the specialty coffee Magia Blanca for the Out of Home market. It is a coffee with rounded body that is Fairtrade certified as well as eco-labelled.

The Swedish phenomenon "fika" is hotter than ever. The latest trend is drinking fine-grind coffee of single origin, with beans from one single area. Like the single malt of whiskey.

- We love coffee and are always looking for new flavours through long-term cooperation with our contacts in the cultivating countries all over the world. At the cooperation Asobagri in Guatemala, we found the flavours and methods of farming that we are looking for. This unique bean and the way it is farmed, we hope and think will be perfect for all coffee enthusiasts in Sweden, says Leif Sjöblom, marketing manager at Löfbergs Lila.

Fairtrade certified and eco-labelled at a height of 1.450 metres
The cooperation Asobagri consists of 900 farmers and was founded by Maya in 1989. The cooperation farms ecological and Fairtrade certified coffee at a height of more than 1.450 metres, in a magnificent environment that is difficult to access. Guatemala is well-known for balanced coffee with full body as well as round.

- The interest for how the coffee is farmed and where it comes from is increasing among the consumers. Certainly, it is just as important that the coffee tastes really good. Magia Blanca has a flowery and pure aroma with a taste of milk chocolate combined with a round sweetness and a taste of blackberries that is suitable for most things, especially berry desserts and avecs, says Leif Sjöblom.

Widening the assortment
The launch also means that Löfbergs Lila is now widening the assortment of fine-grind coffee for the Out of Home market with another specialty coffee that also is Fairtrade certified and eco-labelled. Löfbergs Lila has the widest assortment of eco-labelled and Fairtrade certified products on the market.
