Press release -

Löfbergs strengthens with a well-balanced Colombian

Full-bodied and well-balanced with floral notes, leaving a sweet taste sensation with hints of honey and plums. That is Löfbergs's latest addition of speciality coffee: Red Ecolsierra. The coffee comes from Sierra Nevada, close to the Caribbean cost in Northern Colombia.

- We visit coffee farmers all over the world 150 days per year and are always looking for new and exciting flavours. In the tropical climate by the mountain slopes of the Andes, we found a personal coffee that is unusually rich in flavour, which we would love to share with others, says Anna Nordström, speciality coffee manager at Löfbergs.

Red Ecolsierra is a single-origin coffee from the cooperative with the same name. The cooperative consists of 600 coffee-farming families and is located high up in the Andes. The high altitude makes the coffee grow slowly, leading to the cherries developing more flavour.

- The acidity is toned down, in favour of more and richer aromas. I personally think that the Red Ecolsierra is especially good together with pastries and desserts with sweet, fruity and berry flavours, says Anna Nordström.

Red Ecolsierra is made of 100 percent handpicked, high-quality Arabica beans that are cultivated on an altitude of 900-1,450 metres above sea level. The coffee will be sold as whole beans and is labelled with the Fairtrade and organic logos.

Löfbergs's speciality coffee assortment now consists of eight different coffees. To be a part of the exclusive assortment, the coffee has to be traceable, have an interesting history and not least be strikingly tasty.
