Press release -
Löfbergs's honey is a sweet deal
There was quite a buzz when Löfbergs hired 100,000 new Swedish co-workers in previously this year. It had to do with bees that during the summer have contributed to a greener urban environment - and they have produced a lot of tasty honey. The honey will be sold at Löfbergs's own café, Rosteriet, where the customers get to choose who should get the profit from the sales.
- We want to donate the profit from our honey to a non-profit organization that does something good for our hometown and that is worth an extra contribution, says Leif Sjöblom, marketing manager at Löfbergs.
Four
candidates
88 lbs of honey will now be sold at café Rosteriet in Karlstad,
and everyone that buys a jar gets to vote for one of four candidates presented
by the Löfbergs's staff. The candidate that gets the most votes when all of the
honey is sold will get the entire profit, which is estimated to approximately
SEK 10,000.
- Taking responsibility for the local community is an important part of our sustainability work, and it feels great that our honey both tastes and does good, just like our coffee, says Leif Sjöblom.
The four candidates are:
- Insolvens
The association arranges a yearly summer camp on the island of Sållaren for parents and children that otherwise would not have the opportunity to go on vacation due to financial problems. - Solstaden basket
The association wants more people in Karlstad to experience the joy of basketball and has recently started a basketball team for children and youth with Down syndrome. - Multi Kullti
A project where four girls in Karlstad starts a football school for immigrant girls that due to cultural reasons cannot play in an ordinary club. - Julänglarna
Every year, the association collects food and gifts for families with children that otherwise cannot afford to celebrate Christmas.
