Löfbergs received design award

The coffee roaster Löfberg's new design is to many people's taste - consumers as well as experts within the packaging industry. Last Thursday, Löfberg's received the Packaging Design Awards that was given out at the exhibition Pack & Emballage in Stockholm, Sweden.

- There is a lot of work behind the new design, so it surely is an energy boost for all of us at Löfbergs that we are given this kind of attention, says Leif Sjöblom, marketing manager at Löfbergs.

Löfbergs received the award for "a visually appealing and elaborate packaging profile that has boosted sales".

The Packaging Design Award is presented by the Swedish magazine Packmarknaden in cooperation with The Packaging Arena and easyFairs Pack & Emballage.

Appealing and selling
Löfberg's new design is one stage of the brand building that began last year. The work has been all about layout, photos and other graphic details, but also about making it easy for the consumer to find the right flavour profile, for example dark roasted, on the store shelves. The user-friendliness has also improved.

- We have worked with appearance as well as function. We wanted to convey our core values in a better way and at the same time strengthen the feeling of Löfbergs as a good reason to get together, says Leif Sjöblom.

The motivation of the jury in its entirety:

Löfbergs presents a new design in three different product segments. Through the design, the core values of Löfbergs run all through each segment - Authenticity, Closeness, Pleasure and Tradition. All in its own special and well thought-out way. To remind us of the geographic origin of the products, a 50 year old rhombus has been brought back and used as a quality sign.

The packaging clearly signals different flavour profiles with colours and texts, which are combined with a strength grade from 1 to 5 that makes it easier for the consumer to find its favourite product in the shelf. All hard vacuum packages have also been given flaps that make them easier to open. The result was not long in coming - which shows that a visually appealing packaging can be very selling.
