Press release -
Go Sweden - and Finland!
Sweden or Finland? During international chef
competitions, Löfbergs will be able to root for two different teams. The
company has worked together with the Swedish Culinary Team for several years,
and the family-owned coffee roaster has now initiated cooperation with the
Finnish Culinary Team as well.
- It is like a two-way forecast at the World Cup, the Culinary Olympics and other big competitions. All joking aside, we share the Finnish Culinary Team's passion for great taste experiences. We are so proud and happy that they chose Löfbergs, says Leif Sjöblom, marketing manager at Löfbergs.
Aiming at being the best
The Finnish
Culinary Team consists of 14 people. At the Culinary Olympics in 2012, the team
finished in 7th place. That is a substantial shake-up since the
previous Culinary Olympics, when the team came in 15th place. The
team is now aiming for new bold goals.
- We want to be the best team in the world. That requires knowledge, passion and qualitative products, which is exactly what Löfbergs will bring to the table, says Tapio Laine, team leader for the Finnish Culinary Team.
- Today, a restaurant meal is an overall experience, with coffee as a splendid finish. Working together with the culinary teams goes hand in hand with our ambition to offer the best cup of coffee outside of home, says Leif Sjöblom.
A challenger gaining market shares
In Finland,
people drink more coffee per person than anywhere else in the world and the
country is naturally an important market for Löfbergs. This last year, the
company has made great investments in Finland. For example, Löfbergs is the
coffee partner of the national arena in Finland, Hartwall Arena, where they
serve more than a million cups of coffee per year,
- Cooperating with the Finnish Culinary Team will make sure that even more people get to know our good coffee. We are still a challenger on the Finnish market, but are steadily gaining new market shares. People drink more and more dark-roasted coffee in Finland, and that is where we really have succeeded, says Leif Sjöblom.
